Ukrzaliznytsia's solutions: news from the rails

What's new in Ukrzaliznytsia? A little about the latest news on the Ukrainian railway. On the second route, Odesa-Izmail, where DPKr-3 started running, part of the railway is already electrified from Odesa to Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi. The same thing is happening on the third route, which will run the model diesel train.

The Kharkiv-Popasna route is electrified from Kharkiv to Kupiansk. The same goes for the supposed fourth route, Dolynska-Kryvyi Rih-Kherson-Mykolaiv. Also, the Dolynska-Kryvyi Rih-Apostolove section is electrified. DPKr-3 is made in the dimensions of an electric train; that is, it can be used as a commuter train. But they didn't get such an order yet. And while the UZ didn't get it, one needs to order a diesel-electric train. It will be an excellent solution for all these routes. And not just for these routes. For example, Kharkiv-Krasnohrad-Dnipro, Kharkiv-Dobropillia-Pokrovsk, Uman-Koziatyn-Kyiv, Haivoron-Vinnytsia-Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia-Mariupol are also partially electrified.

The best sedentary cars that have ever been in operation are the cars of the Ukraine-2 train (first photo) and the car of the Capital Express (second photo). And the best train in terms of running qualities is a two-story Skoda, its car is shown in the third photo. The big disadvantage of Skoda is that seats are arranged the way that people have to sit opposite each other. It's convenient for suburban traffic, but we use Skoda as an Intercity, so a good solution would be to replace the seats in Skoda with those in Ukraine-2. At least on the second floor.
